How we verify what we publish
Methodology
Who reviews this site
Contractor Exam Pro content is reviewed by the Contractor Exam Pro editorial team before publication. Review means checking every fact against the primary source that issues it, not adding an unverified opinion. We make no claim that anyone on this site holds a contractor license, a CSLB registration, or any trade certification. The authority this site stands on is the sourcing process below, not a credential, and it is a study resource, not legal advice.
How the licensing data is sourced
Contractor licensing rules differ by state, so every figure is traced to the body that sets it: the state licensing board (the Contractors State License Board in California, and its equivalent elsewhere), the Secretary of State or business-registration agency where the license is filed, or the exam vendor that administers the test, such as PSI, Pearson VUE, PROV, or NASCLA. Fees, exam names, bond and net-worth amounts, and experience rules each carry the source that published them and the date we checked it.
We do not reprint another site's compiled comparison table. Each state page is built from that state's own board pages and fee schedule, and a state stays unpublished while any load-bearing figure is still unverified rather than shipping with a guess.
Every page carries an updated date, and every fee line carries its own
verification date, so a reader can see exactly how old each number is instead of
trusting a site-wide freshness badge. When a board republishes a fee schedule or
changes an exam, the affected pages are re-checked and re-dated; the oldest dates are
the ones we work through first.
The cost statistics page is this site's own original data study: every figure on it is computed at build time from the sourced state fee lines, never hand-typed.
Last full verification
The newest verified fact on this site is dated . This date is computed from the site's own content at build time, not hardcoded, and moves on its own as pages are re-verified.
